Jo Koy Dating New Girlfriend After Chelsea Handlers Split

In December 2021, Jo and Chelsea made their red-carpet debut during the People’s Choice Awards ceremony. Later, in 2022, the couple attended the Grammy Awards together. Chelsea was super-elated to be accompanied by Jo on her first Grammy nomination. Chelsea Handler’s new stand-up comedy special, “Revolution,” will premiere globally on Dec. 27 on Netflix. Chelsea Handler and Jo Koy are taking a break from their relationship.

Chelsea headed to Los Angeles in hopes of starting an acting career at the age of 19. She eventually switched her focus to comedy and began performing stand-up at clubs around the city. Her fanbase quickly grew with her brassy, self-deprecating style and her approach to the topic of sex. Since their breakup, the Chelsea Lately alum has reflected on what led to them parting ways. Chelsea Handler revealed she is no longer interested in discussing her split from Jo Koy after previously being candid about her journey.

When speaking with Entertainment Tonight, he said the transition back into a friendship with Chelsea was going great. They had always been friends, so going back to being friends was easy for them. The subsequent press tour for both projects has given Jo plenty of opportunities to address his relationship status. He’s kept his comments on the breakup short and sweet. Handler, 47, announced in an Instagram post on Monday that she and the 51-year-old comedian broke up ahead of their one-year anniversary.

Chelsea Handler is most well-known for her quirky personality and funny sense of humor. During her long career, Handler has gained quite a bit of popularity, and she has an impressive Instagram following of over 4.6 million — which suggests that fans want to see everything the star does — including who she dates. According to Us Weekly, Handler and her most recent boyfriend, Jo Koy, began dating in 2021, but they had known each other for a long time before that. “If I fell in love at the age of 46, I have hope for every person in this world,” the comedian joked Monday night. Chelsea Handler is an American actress, comedian, and producer.

Jo Koy might have moved on with a new girlfriend months after his recent breakup with his now-former girlfriend, Chelsea Handler. While Chelsea Handler appeared to be a little more forthcoming about her apparent romance with Jo Koy (albeit still in a pretty cryptic way) it seems keeping things on the down-low is a habit for both of them. Just days after making their romance Instagram official, the two were all smiles while out at a Dodgers game in September 2021. You know that saying of the best relationships being rooted in friendship?

She recreated the Fortnite default dance motion in a TikTok video that garnered over 5 million views in late 2021. Her dancing with a brace on her leg is one of her most well-liked TikTok videos. She wrote, “None of the tik tok accounts of me are real! Wethunt cancel account I have deactivated my only 2 accounts,” alongside a mirror selfie of her at the gym. Maroc later took to Instagram Story to disclose that she has deactivated her only two TikTok accounts and said none of the TikTok accounts named after her are real.

Her boyfriend tagged along, riding behind her in a snowmobile. Before Koy performed at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, the couple enjoyed a vacation in Hawaii. In one video Koy posted, the comedian poked fun at Handler, running up to her on the beach frantically to try to get her attention. Handler said that things started to heat up between her and Koy after he asked her to write a blurb for his book, Mixed Plate. They started texting, began to hang out and started to FaceTime on a regular basis. But due to their busy work schedules and quarantine guidelines, they weren’t able to see each other for four months.

Chelsea and Jo sparked dating rumours in 2021

I was going to speak to people that had never seen me before. I’ve got four jobs right now and I’m tired of going on stage with mustard on my shirt because I was cleaning tables. And at the end of my set, I got that standing ovation.

“So, please continue to root for both of us, because you never know what life will bring,” Handler concluded her piece, similarly to how she began her writing. She expressed her sadness at having to announce their breakup. Days after their separation Chelsea made an appearance on the “We Can Do Hard Things with Glennon Doyle” podcast where she opens up about ‘Painful’ split with Jo Koy.

By maintaining healthy and strong relationships with his exes, he can encourage his son to do the same thing. Kelly Clarkson, who pays her ex-husband $200,000 a month in spousal support, emphasized how much she appreciated Jo’s healthy outlook on divorce and separation. It’s no surprise Jo has been able to handle the split so amicably, as he has a beautiful relationship with his ex-wife and the mother of his son Angie King. During the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Angie invited Jo to live on the same property as she and their son so they could all be together. The two were introduced by comedian Jon Lovitiz before either of them were famous. During the appearance, she also revealed that falling in love at 46 gave her “hope for every person in this world”.

… After Year of Dating

With so much love still present between the two, surely they could figure out a way to make their relationship work. But the door is closed on this chapter of the couple’s time together. “I went to therapy, and I was able to see things with a different lens, and then I had this great guy in my life who just kind of wore me down, and then I capitulated. During an October appearance on TODAY with Hoda & Jenna, the comedian noted that therapy also helped her be open to love. Koy also posted a picture of himself with Handler on his Instagram account, writing that they “will always remain great friends and will always have love for one another”.

Koy and Handler announced their breakup on Monday just before their one-year anniversary. A source now tells ET on Friday that the two comedians’ busy schedules had strained their ability to see one another. “If you’re arguing or if it’s devolving, if you can’t have conversations that are calm and loving and constant and you’re not feeling like a team, then it becomes untenable,” she said. “People are open sometimes in their lives and sometimes they’re really closed off. And [for] a lot of people, it’s not a fun job to do the work of looking inward. Like, we all know that it’s ugly … it’s not an attractive endeavor.”
